Feather mites

My chickens have feather mites and I can't get rid of them. Can I put lime on the ground and on the chickens? I tried seven powder. What do you suggest to get rid of them? I also have leg mites and her legs are big.

Have you tried diatomaceous earth food grade? It kills and prevents mites. Go to youtube to see how people use it, but to prevent mites we just mix it in with our chickens bedding and dirt in the coop and run. you can even sprinkle some on the chickens themselves

. It's natural and non-toxic for the chickens, but I wouldn't recomend sitting around and breathing it in all day yourself.
