My regular feed is 16% and the Feather Fixer is 18%

You would fair better putting them on a starter/grower feed.

I will check the bags of feed. What causes mites and lice? What do I look for and where on the chickens? If they do have them how do I treat? They don't like to be caught.

Its impossible to say what causes it.


Look for bugs crawling on them at night, with a flashlight, when they go to roost.

Do you have a rooster in your flock - they often cause that type of feather loss from repeated attempts at breeding the hens.
