My batch of chicks are 8 wks old and I noticed today while watching my chicken tv that one of my birds was picking feathers from the backs of two of the others. Should I add something to their diet or do something different? They have an 8x8 outdoor run and a 6x8 interior coop. There is only 6 in this space, so theyre not lacking in space. Ideas??

They may be bored. If my chickens are locked up on rainy or snowy days with no outside access, they start to pick. If they are running around the yard, scratching and eating, no problems. I also have some young ones who live in the barn and are scratching through my chicken poop all day...no problems their either. You could try to throw their food on the ground around the coop and run to give them something to do...it will make them take longer to eat and will help them learn to forage. :)
