Feather plucking

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried to catch her to seperate her today without success. The problem is I have 3 BA's and they all look alike so if I lose sight of her when she takes off and back into the flock I have a problem figuring out which one she is. I might have to band their legs so I can keep seperate her more easily. Thanks for the suggestions of pinless peepers. I may have to check these out and give them a try. I am just sick and tired of bald chickens and today I noticed she is picking on another one of my EE's.

Ok, so I am new. What is a pinless peeper?

I know Randall Burkey and eggcartons.com sell them. You could do a search here and probably find a bunch of threads about them. I've never used one, just read about them here. They prevent the chicken from seeing straight ahead which stops them from pecking or feather pulling, as I understand it.

We are a volunteer group and have no intention of pushing any products. We simply wanted to offer our years of experience and hopefully help you overcome this common problem. I pointed you in the direction of a company I truly believe could help.

They are actually conducting a trial at the moment and are looking for people to take part. They are sending out free products for a 2-3 month trial for those that keep between 6-12 chickens who are currently feather plucking. If you're sceptical, why not give it a try? It's really worked on our birds and could have a profound effect on yours.

Anyway, we offer free impartial advice on our site to help people overcome feather plucking in their birds. We have a team of experts who generously offer their time for free to help others and I sincerely hope you find an appropriately solution to your hens problems. We'd love to know what you choose in the end and how it's helped you over time. We are always looking for new solutions to this common problems and every little helps.

Thanks,
The Feather Plucking Team

Interesting ideas. I would like to add more protein to my chickens diet. They get thawed veggie blend, eggs (if there are left overs), cheerios (occasional treat for jumping)

and various fruits.
Can they have tuna?

Like the canned, but in water, not oil
