Feather plucking..

[Heffer Nite]

I have 3 golden campine hens and something (i suspect a rat) has chewed the tail feathers off of 2. The damage is quite close to the skin and the remainder of the chewed feathers are bleeding, not profusely but its not stopped seeping for a few days. Do i need to pluck these damaged feathers? If so how is best to do so?

Thank you very much, both the links helped. I shall try to get some styptic gel and if all else fails i may attempt to pluck the troublesome feathers..
