A couple of my chickens have pulled their feathers out on their sides till they have none and are bleeding. I was wondering why they are doing this and what can I apply to stop this.

I would buy pecking stop, Are they doing it themselves or is another chicken doing it? I would watching close because it can become very fatal.

Do you have a rooster that is treading them too hard?

You can also try upping their protein a bit. My chickens loved cat food as a treat. Either the small kibble or canned.

I do not have a rooster. After watching these chickens, I believe they are pulling their own feathers out.

Are they confined in a very small area? If so, they tend to get on each others nerves alot easier.

I had the same problem with them pulling their own feathers, this is a bad habit which cannot be broken with non peck products. If you want to keep a healthy and happy flock, you must re-home or get rid of the pecking chickens before it spreads to the rest of your flock. Believe me, once they start, they NEVER stop.

Good Luck!
