Omg don't say thisThey both look like males to me, but the second one is a bit ambiguous and might be a hen. In another couple of weeks, I would try vent sexing them.
@scyllarus might be right. The more I look at the second one, the more hen I see. The spots are light on the first one, but there, so could also be a hen. I don't have any Italians, so I'm not as familiar with them.Omg don't say thiswhich means all my quail are male
thank you
You're giving me hope!! The rest of my other quails have the full chinstrap with no speckles whatsoever, these 2 are the only ones without the full chinstrap and only have the stripe, they are 100% Italian due to parents being Italian tooI'm going to disagree, they both look like Italian hens to me. The one with more speckles on her chest for sure, the one with less I'm 80% sure. My experience is that Italian hens have less clear face markings (crescents of black around their cheeks vs a full chinstrap) and chest speckles, though fewer than one would expect for pharaoh. The roos have more defined/extensive facial markings, no chest speckles, and usually some reddishness to the breast.

Hello, so they are 100% both female! I got my first 2 eggs yesterdayKeep an eye on them since I could be wrong - lighting and angles could hide things - but I feel pretty confident. I've had several Italian/Manchurian birds before.
