Have these 2 that I'm having trouble feather sexing, I have 5 others who are 100% roos, these 2 I'm confused about! They are 5 weeks old

They both look like males to me, but the second one is a bit ambiguous and might be a hen. In another couple of weeks, I would try vent sexing them.

I'm going to disagree, they both look like Italian hens to me. The one with more speckles on her chest for sure, the one with less I'm 80% sure. My experience is that Italian hens have less clear face markings (crescents of black around their cheeks vs a full chinstrap) and chest speckles, though fewer than one would expect for pharaoh. The roos have more defined/extensive facial markings, no chest speckles, and usually some reddishness to the breast.

You're giving me hope!! The rest of my other quails have the full chinstrap with no speckles whatsoever, these 2 are the only ones without the full chinstrap and only have the stripe, they are 100% Italian due to parents being Italian too 🥰

Keep an eye on them since I could be wrong - lighting and angles could hide things - but I feel pretty confident. I've had several Italian/Manchurian birds before.

Otherwise, this might be a helpful site:

Hello, so they are 100% both female! I got my first 2 eggs yesterday 😍 to say I was very excited indeed, thank you for that because I would have just rehomed them all, I'm so glad I didn't 😊
