She looks like she has white earlodes. Thats a indication of white eggs. Its the lodes that indicate the egg color. If its white they will lay white eggs but if they are red the will lay colored which then depends on the breed if its dark or light brown or blue/green.

She should be a good layer of nice brown eggs. I do think, due to their size, brahmas mature slower and so she might start laying later than, say, a RI red. But they are supposed to be good layers and I think setters? Not sure on that one. And I think brahmas are usually pretty quiet and gentle, always a bonus

Thanks, Draye and Donrae. I hope she will be a good layer. I like the way the Brahmas look. So far, she's pretty shy and it's hard to get very close to her.

Here's a picture of her eating with another pullet for a detail of her ear. Her face looks red. Doesn't that mean she will be laying soon? One of our pullets is laying now, but we're not sure who yet.
