feathering out... can roosters feather out fastest?

do they always have to feather out slower? or do sometimes they feather out the fastest? My potential rooster has the most feathers of all the bunch.. can you tell I'm still holding out hope that its actually a female? LOL
 
i guess they're like kids, and people in general. all bird are different and i guess they're all gonna get they're feathers at different times.
 
oh crap.. its prob still a rooster then ! aw man!!!
 
The majority of the time Pullets will feather out faster. There wings start to show a couple of days before the boys will. Now one must note here we are not talking fully feathered just starting to grow them. Females will get there tails in sooner also. But you can always have a slow feather of either sex. Other things to look for is size of leg and if combs are growing.
 
size of legs?? do the roos have larger legs?
 
the bird in question is just giant compared to the others and they are all the same age! he/she is just a lot larger! I would assume the legs would naturally be larger as well LOL!
