So this is Dorothy. She is about 15 weeks old and still has these fluffy feathers on her back. All of her hatch-mates have lost theirs. She does have a severe cross beak so I’m wondering if she just can’t get them off? Should I help her remove the casing so the new feathers can come in?

I do that for my silkies, their crests and the back of their necks stay in casings for a long time, for some reason the boys seem to enjoy their head and neck scritches a lot more than the girls 😂
I’m not sure how much she will like it but she’s used to being handled so it shouldn’t be too bad 🤞🏼😅

And that's the reason you get bit all the time. The truth finally comes out....🤣
How did you know I got bit tonight? Were you hiding in my coop?

I had a thick long-sleeved flannel on over my work shirt to keep it clean (way too hot out for it too!) and that stinker did flicks on my sleeve with his beak until he got to bare skin and latched on :barnie I was even trying to avoid him too, he is determined! But then he melts into a cuddle bug :idunno
