This is my second year rasing chicks but this is the first time I've had this happen. One of my chicks has a little less feathers on her butt than normal. Now it's nothing to crazy just a little bit more pink showing than the other chicks. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried. She is at that "ugly duckling" stage where they are growing in real feathers. She's the only one having this issue out of 7 other chicks. Thanks!

Welcome!

As long as she doesn't have lice/mites, the bald bum is likely normal. Apparently, the really fluffy feathers at the back end are attractive or tasty, so can get plucked by flock mates. If it gets really pink, apply something like Blukote so you don't end up with an injured bird.

She seems fine as no one else has it and it's nothing as severe as a lot of the pictures I've seen. She doesn't seem sensative or anything, I figured it was some to do with the season or something along those lines. Thank you so much for help!
