My New Hampshire looks more like a strawberry blonde than a redhead. I thought maybe it was caused by being wormy but deworming didn't help. I recently discovered the flock had lice - did the second treatment yesterday. I don't know how long they'd had them before I discovered it. Could that have bleached her color? What else could it be? She's 7 or 8 years old, no longer lays. The girls free-range but have mash and high-protein grain mix available free-choice.
My guess is that she's showing her years, the same as humans do.
