Feathers everywhere?

I noticed yesterday when I was mucking out the coop that there were a *lot* of feathers mixed in with the litter. Then I noticed that they're all over the yard, too. The chickens don't *seem* any less feather-y... is this molting? If so, isn't late November a terrible time to start losing feathers? If it isn't molting, what else could it be?

My girls are 13ish weeks old now.

Mine went through the 13 week molt. I know what you mean with all the feathers. It lasted about a week then stopped. They are now 40 weeks and haven't molted since.
