feathers missing from around neck...

I have noticed that there have been alot of black feathers in the chicken coop but since I have more black
hens than any other color that wasn't too unusual BUT I think now that most of those feathers has come
from one hen.......most of her neck feathers are missing...I see mostly the lighter quill making her look a
bit thinner too ( I think??)
so, is this normal ? what should I be looking for?? what can I do for her???

It sounds like she is molting. Make sure she eats well, extra protein is a good idea. Some molts are more dramatic than others and mine of the same age don't necessarily molt at the same time.

I was hoping someone would think it was just molting... most are the same age
so wasn't sure if that could be it..
she seems to eat fine and she acts fine so hope that is all it is....
