Feathers missing on throat

My Welsummer had sort of a place like that. She was the only one looking like that and I started looking closer at her habits. I noticed that where she got up onto the roost (her route) caused her to fly/flap/brush up against the slanted roof covering the nesting boxes. She was heavier and rounder than the others. Every night, her throat would barely scrape the edge. She had a spot like yours does.

Oh!!! Buff is indeed a larger hen (many round shapes on her ). I will check her habits more.

If i stayed out at night, she stays with me instead of going to bed (they have an automatic gate) so i never checked her roosting process.

Thank you!

What type of feeder do you use? We have several birds in our flock that have lost their feathers on their throats/necks and they have not grown back for months. We use a bucket feeder with ports that seem to rub the throats as the birds feed. We are wondering is this is possibly your issue as well. We lowered our feeders and removed the ports a few days ago and we are hoping that is the issue.
