For the first time in 5 years, I have multiple hens with feather's missing from the middle of their backs. A couple months ago I discovered that an Americanas Rooster (that I didn't order but was shipped with my order of day old chicks) was pecking on a couple of hens and causing them to bleed. I had to separate the hens until they healed. I threw that rooster out of the chicken pen and house. But he has been gone for sometime now, and all of a sudden I have seen about 6 out of my 28 hens that are missing feathers on their backs. In one concentrated spot. These hens are not even 1 year old yet. This is not molting is it? One of the white chickens that was badly pecked has never grown the feathers back on her back and she has a really bald place. She still looks awful. No blood or raw places, just awful. I want to stop this....help! THANKS so much!
