Feathers

My girls are approximately 10 weeks old now and pretty much completely feathered. Their hind ends are more fluffy looking. They are randomly losing feathers. It seems to be pretty normal (but how would I know?). No patchy spots or anything like that... just a feather here & there. Here is the dumb question. Does anyone ever do anything with these feather gifts they leave us? I'm curious to know if I'm the only weirdo that thinks that I should be collecting these & using them for something.

They are just getting their "big girl" feathers and loosing their baby ones. Called a juvenile molt. Nothing to be worried about.


As for the collecting, my daughter likes to collect them, but we have so many that we don't keep them.

Thanks ac.... how often do they molt? And what is considered abnormal feather loss?
