Lotsa action here....6 out...6 pips working away. Going to go fire up the tractor and move some snow for a bit. Safer than hovering!
Great news Purpletie3, best of luck with the remaining eggs :)

Grrrr.... Just did a test candle.. Day 5 and some of the eggs I have in there are light blue and white so very easy to see into and usually by day 3 I can see what if anything is going on.. Like I said, day 5 and the front row shows signs of veining very faint, like day 2-3.. Moved the temp probe around and discovered why, the fan isn't working right or something, back of incubator shows 101-102. middle shows 99.8, front shows 95-96 called the farm store where I got it, Little Giant 11300, and was told bring it back and they will exchange it....got the older still air warming up to transfer the eggs into

I don't have this issue with my still air at all!

They're all easter Eggers. One is from a black/white speckled hen that lays blue eggs and the other 4 are from a very pretty black hen that lays light brown/pinkish eggs.

Day 22 started at noon for me...Crazy yellow chickzilla is running roughshot in the bator. I am keeping them in the dark. It seems to calm them down when they are in the dark...they kinda just go to sleep.

Another hamburg is hatching out and a chick from a olive egg. More pips too. One of the zippers is totally zipped and hopefully just taking a nap.

Well, I am just going to leave them all be for now. No rush to get them out since the first one hatched some time over night. They should be fine for even a couple more days...but, these guys seem to have a nice pace set and I am just going to watch them through the little windows for now.

I am staying busy though...moved a ton of snow and cleaned out my 5 brooders...
