...Final lockdown for me...Svart Hona eggs due Thursday.

I just pulled the chicks out of the last hatch...6 Black copper marans out of 6. I had 6 isbars from the same farm and none of them developed. 50% woot woot!

I also had 8 Americauna...4 to lockdown...no hatches yet...0

I wish everyone well with their hatches this week!

Well, down to three Ameraucana eggs in the bator. When I went to turn them at lunch I got the tell tale whiff of rot and was able to pinpoint the culprit. So six total including the three under my broody. Here's a pic of her enjoying her luxury birthing suite!

I love broodies!!! They are so intense and dedicated. Mother nature at its finest.

I have 5 barnyard mixes out & 3 or 4 more pipped. Can't see much with everything hatching, it's creating steam on the windows.

Hi everyone, update on my hatch. Well 11/14 hatched yay, the 1 I thought might be a twin was not, just a healthy sized single.

1 egg pipped yesterday on the side, but never made it out. I can't imagine that 11 chicks playing rugby with it helped much. 1 egg had a complete chick in it just died for some reason. And the most usual egg I had with suspected twins didn't make it. Will do eggtopsies on the 3 that didn't make it later, will let you know how it came out. Running a little slow this a.m. managed to catch the flu that my grandkids had, so a long night last night. I hope everyone had some fuzzy little friends visit them thru the night.

Edited to add I will get pictures tomorrow of the 11. I don't want to be handling them much with not feeling well yet. They are in a clean, dry incubator. They will be good until tomorrow.

Pips!!! 3 of 6 so far, 2 Jaers and 1 of the IABs! And some peeps too. Hope it goes well. I'm between overnight shifts so can't just sit there and start at the bator all day, have to sleep. I didn't think anything would start happening till tonight. Guess I better get the brooder divided off now, they'll have room to grow into it.

Hope you feel better soon. 11/14 is great! Always sorry for the ones that don't make it, though. Looking forward to the pics.
