February went out with a bang!

The first of our 4 hens laid her first egg 8 days ago. Tuesday a second laid her first (pretty blue EE egg), and today a third laid one (shockingly our odd lady Olive Egger)! The Cinnamon Queen laid her 8th and LARGEST egg today, coming in at 80g! Yikes. We have one last lady who is yet to lay, but is giving signs, so hopefully soon! This is so egg-citing!

I know, hopefully it was just a random giant, she must not have enjoyed laying that one!

We are in western Washington state! . I wasn’t expecting them to start laying until spring since it’s so dark here all winter, so it’s been a nice surprise!

Oh wow! What happens when you incubate a double yolk egg? Can they both survive?

It’s rare and probably doubtful that they bothe survive, but I’m giving it my best. I have 4 layers and a roo, then I have my pet silkies and a polish.

Ooooh! Congrats! Those are gorgeous eggs! I love the color variety! Mine just started laying within this past month, and I love it! Every trip to the coop is a treasure hunt!

I'm jealous of everyone's colors. Mine are all the same - even though each of the 4 pullets I have are different breeds - LOL! Time to get an EE...???
