I guess a tether is more of what I meant, not leash. I'm not gonna start taking the butthead for walks anytime soon, unless it's a short walk to the chopping block.
He really is a nice cockerel, he just can't control his impulses at the present time. He can't catch any of the pullets during the day (except the CX ones), so he stands by the coop door at dusk, knowing the pullets will have to pass by him to enter the coop and wham-o! They get mated whether they like it or not. So at dusk all the pullets are hanging around just outside the door, wanting to go in pretty badly before it gets dark, but not wanting to pass by Impy to do it.
Tonight I scooped him up and carried him out to the big birds coop with me while I locked them up, so that the pullets could enter their coop without being molested. He tried his nonsense with my Lil' Bit. Big mistake on his part, huge. My grown hens won't tolerate his nonsense. I was sorely tempted to leave him in with the big birds for the night. Betcha he'd be singing a different tune tomorrow morning.
