As written deals more with videos and likely extreme events. I do not advocate drowning trapped animals which appears to be the only activity that applies to poultry keepers I have seen. At some point I think drowning itself will be outlawed. I inadvertently crush / drown amphibians such as tadpoles / frogs because they are so numerous and mixed with stock of value or breeding in roadways. Hopefully laws enacted will be tempered by what is practical.

Could be why youtube has removed several videos depicting animal deaths?

I note some of the producers of these "how to" videos have gone back to recreate something similar, but have edited out the death sequence of the animal. They may still show the previously live and later dead animal, but not the killing itself. Not an entirely bad thing.

weird as my province makes it illegal to use a foot hold trap for otter, mink, muskrat and beaver with out it being a drowning set. and goes so far to recommend using those sets when ever possible.

i know beaver and muskrats are not common or ever predators but mink sure are and otter i know can be an issue.

New regulations focus more on video distribution. So long as trapping with actual killing part not shown, all is good. What may be more of a consideration based on direction of legislation is drowning of catch using gear otherwise used as a live trap. Directions may prove less confusing, but still be confusing.
