Feed and water inside or out of the coop?

I'm setting up my coop now and I've seen some people put their feed in the coop and others put it outside. Why do it one way over the other?

Inside: if chickens are hot, they might not want to go inside, therefore saving feed. There's natural food outside.
Outside: chickens are outside for like 12 hours a day, and there are bugs and stuff outside anyway. Plus, it will get rained on. I have mine inside and my chickens are very happy. If they are cold, they will huddle inside and not eat any feed.
