Do we think this chicken can heal?

Update: Our girl made it. Posting for a reference if anyone is in the same situation. We followed the advice given in this thread and I also used chat gpt for insight on her wound progress as needed and around the 3 week mark we were able to reintegrate her with the rest of our flock. Her eating issues resolved as soon as she was with her friends again, even though she had supervised visits throughout. Posting a pic of her at almost 4 weeks post injury.

Writing in hopes of getting some perspective. One of my girls flew out of their yard today into our main yard, which is pretty difficult to do, and our dog chased and bit her before I could intervene. She doesn’t seem to be in shock and is eating and drinking. I gave her some pain meds we had and cleaned with vetricyn. We went to try and bandage her up with steri strips but upon closer looking are feeling like this may not heal on its own. It looks like the skin and tissue around her tail is drooping and we can’t seem to connect it with a bandage. She was only born this spring. I want to try and save her but my partner thinks we should put her down. Can anyone weigh in on whether their chicken has made it through something like this without stitches?
I have a chicken her name is Gracie, she’s a Sapphire Blue, fairly new breed between her Sapphire Blue mother & her Plymouth Rock father, she’s beautiful ‘ sweet. Well you know how these girls can get especially when one is not the alpha & she got picked on and once that pecking stew blood, the rest of the 9 girls attacked those two spots on the back sides. This happened sometime outside in their chicken tractor & when I was putting them up that night I noticed her limping and when I lifted her wings I saw the damage to both of her sides. It was bloody and down through the skin ‘ you could literally see bone! I was devastated, but I wasn’t willing to give up as we chicken mamas tend to fight for our babies! So I immediately brought her into my house and I cleaned up her wound with some mild glycerin soap & warm water, then I patted her dry & even used a blow dryer around the area, not directly, so she wasn’t ok soaked. Then I took out my hydrogen peroxide spray & sprayed her directly to disinfect her wounds. Then I waited a bit til the white fizzing subsided, then I took Gentian Violet, this product I swear by has been around for years as a natural antibacterial. Gentian violet belongs to the group of medicines called antifungals. Topical gentian violet is used to treat some types of fungus infections inside the mouth (thrush) and of the skin, however I have had success with it & my chickens & even my dogs. You don’t need a prescription to get it, I bought it on Amazon & got 2 bottles for around $15. Very affordable & very affective. The only thing is it STAINS purple, so wear gloves & you want to use q-tips to apply it directly onto her wounds. Do NOT re-dip into the bottle, use the q-tips on her per each dipping once then throw away. I put this on Gracie twice a day for the 1st few days & I sprayed some Colloidal silver on her twice-three times a day, I left her in a cozy area with an infra heat red lamp to accelerate her healing process. Made sure to give her like I always give my girls alkaline water with electrolytes & a cap full of organic apple cider vinegar (NOT braggs brand) and made sure her feed had dried chunks of oregano, red pepper flakes, basil, garlic & lavender. Also another GREAT item I always keep on hand is Lavender essential oil as I make a spray for cuts & wounds. It’s also great in my kitchen if I or anyone ever gets burned. It’s been almost 3 weeks now & Gravie is doing GREAT! Shes thriving, walking, running & is COMPLETELY HEALED. She still has the violet colors on her feathers from the Gentian Violet, but I don’t mind it, it’s kind of like her battle scars & how she warrior-ed thru her injury & is now stronger! Funny thing is, now she doesn’t care to go back with the rest of her flock, at night instead of going back into the coop with her sisters, she’s like, hey I’m over here in my private condo, peace out & see you all in the morning…So I usually keep a separate little coop that I call the Healing hut, 🛖, being Hawaiian, we have a designated hut where we fixed our farm animals and it’s where they go to heal & chill & rejuvenate, when they are ready to join their flocks, they do it voluntarily. I am writing a book titled Organically Beautiful, it would have already been published last year however I was told by my close friends that I needed to include the holistic things I do for my animals…So, I am currently finishing it up and it includes remedies such as this. I really hope your baby girl gets better & Yes, I do believe we can in many cases help them to heal, this isn’t my first chicken hurt, I’ve had others with bad leg injuries that made full recoveries, so anything is possible if you try… I wish you well love ❤️🐓🙏🏽 ‘Aloha is the best medicine’
