I just noticed that Omran's feeder has cutouts on both sides of the bucket. The plywood divider would only work if you had feeding cutout or cutouts on one side of the plywood divider I was suggesting, the side opposite the side you filled from the top. Perhaps it wouldn't really increase the amount of feed you could add after all...

Perhaps you could increase the volume of feed that the feeder could hold by adding a divider made from two pieces of plywood one screwed end to the face of the other in a "T" configuration, with notches at the bottom of both to allow feed to flow to the single feeding cutout at the front of the bucket. Like this (you can see someone's having fun playing with Paint this afternoon! Not really drafting software.

Sillybirds, thank you very much for all the drawing you posted I think it isa great Idea, and I love it when we share, that's great and I will try it myself ver soon.

I would like to thank everyone else for thier kidness and responds.

Omran.

try going to walmart bakery or any other store that has a bakery & see if you can get some empty frosting buckets. our walmart gives them away . they also had some 1 gallon buckets that had donut glaze in them. i made mine out of the 5g buckets & used a 2in hole saw to cut holes spaced 2in apart all the way around the bottom of the bucket for them to eat out of.

For real ?! Ill have to ask nest time considering there are... at least 4 walmarts I visit regularly depending on the way I am coming home.

Our H.D. has their orange buckets on sale for two something and the lids for a dollar something. I bought 4 last time I was there.

Omran, do you think if I made one like yours, but with only one cutout (like I drew) it wouldn't give the birds enough room to eat (I have 8 chickens)?

so with the lid on how water proof is the whole feeding area. i have a small coop and the birds free range so this would be perfect for under their coop if the feed stays dry.
