We have our girls in a tractor in the backyard. We switched feeds when the store was out of our regular. Wherever the girls spilled it, it left big burned patches of dead grass. Have any of you had this happen before? Should I try to flush the excess nitrogen with a good amount of water?

Yeah, normally I'd think that was the issue. We had just feed spill in those areas, though, no poop. I know it gets really hot - in fact heat might be the real issue. I put some crumbles in our worm bin when they got wet in the brooder, and it got HOT. We had a mass exodus of worms that night.

Do you think the feed might have burned the grass with heat? We hadn't had this issue with spilled feed before, just with this brand we had to use temporarily.
