I was wondering what to feed the pheasants when they start to molt, I did a search and nothing showed up so I figured I would ask. Currently I am feeding Purina layena with scratch grain given as a treat. However the birds have ceased to lay and have begun to molt. Now can I can continue to feed the same ration or should I switch to something with a higher protein content? The same question applies to the peacocks since I am assuming they will be doing the same here shortly also. Thanks in advance.

I would think you should keep them on the layer pellets cause they need the extra protien and calcium to build new feathers. but maybe I am wrong and some one who knows better can by all means correct me!
