Feed composition

I intend to transition my hens to this feed/pellets

(from mash) when they start laying
Is the calcium content too low (3% - 4.5 %) ?

That's pretty much the same calcium range in the feed we have been giving to our layers for years. We also feed oyster shell on the side and they will go through about 2lbs of that per bird per year even with the calcium in the feed.

It's always a good idea to have a separate container of Calcium (soluble grit).

Even when I fed a Layers feed I always had Oyster Shells available separately. GC
