I bought some locally ground and bagged cattle feed from a neighbor recently, and my steers don't like it. It doesn't have a label, so I don't know exactly what's in it. The neighbor said it's probably corn, soybean meal and chopped hay. Does this sound ok to feed my steers? They're used to Sweet Mix from Tractor Supply and this is powdery and not sweet-smelling.
Next question is would it be ok to feed to young chickens or pigeons.
I'm considering going back to Sweet Mix and blending this new stuff in there, depending on the opinions I find here.
