Just order a complete balanced chick food...it can't possibly take too long to arrive. My chickens needed food and since I was low on funds my husband offered to buy me food on his Amazon account. Well I got it today and he accidentally bought scratch! They ran out completly last night so I need food and don't have time to return it. My chicks are 9 weeks old and 9% protein I know won't cut it. What can I add to round out out?? If it helps I do ferment my seed. I have access to alot of oat meal. This is what I ended up getting.

So I went to go return it and realized I won't have enough for starter after. So, I am thinking along the lines of adding things like dried peas and such to mix in and make my own starter mix and make it last longer. Fourtunatly I have access to most of the things I need bulk. Fish meal is a bit harder but I can get it. Does anyone have further recommendations of things to mix in that will help?? Thank you
If ordering the correct food is simply out of the question; you need to realize that by adding all of these things that are not chick starter, that your chicks will absolutely need grit to grind and digest these other food products.Just order a complete balanced chick food...it can't possibly take too long to arrive.
Feed this candy until the correct balanced feed arrives.
Be sure that grit is being offered or you are going to end up with more problems.
