Feed in the Coop?

When I allow the chickens out into the yard, do I need to provide food inside the coop? I will have feeders and water outside in the yard. I am thinking they will only go in the coop during bad weather, for sleeping and laying eggs. It seems like extra work to provide food and water inside the coop as well.

I keep the food and water outside in the run. They are outside every day no matter how cold or rainy as I have a covered run.

Thanks they will have shelter outside as well. I am basically lazy and want to save some work.

You're welcome. As I tell people, chickens do not do midnight snacks so I don't have to keep food inside. Even when it's -22 F outside the girls are outside in the protected run.
