Feed in the run?

Do you have to put feed out in the run or are they smart enough to go inside the coop if they are hungry? We do have water inside and outside for them. They are 5 weeks old and they have just moved out to the coop and the feed doesn't seem to be going as fast as when they were in the brooder

we only feed our's in the coop and if the get hungry they will figure it out....but we do keep water in and outside the coop but we never feed them in the run.....

We feed and water in the coop, however the run is open to the coop so they know where to go when hungry or thirsty. They figure things out quickly! Plus, it's getting hotter, I have noticed on warmer days mine don't go through as much food.

THANK YOU so much for posting this! We just finished our coop last night with the run to follow this week. I was out at coop, just now, figuring out the layout of where I want to put stuff. I actually walked back to house to come online to BYC and see if I could find an answer to this exact question.
