Feed issue, wet bag

And ain't it like a thousand dollar or something ridiculous just to ride a ferry?

$36 CAD for the car $12/adult person... if I was old it would be free Monday-Thursday. You just need to add in some complaints about the ridiculous scheduling and you will sound like a real gulf islander yourself @Shamo Hybrid !

It’s the getting to the 6am ferry so I can get back the same day that’s a challenge with 30 head of cattle in two groups and 28 chickens spread over 2 miles of property, and a 20 minute drive to said ferry! Now the courier has prices more in line with what you’re describing, lol! And I’m boycotting both her and our only pub for crummy service and overpricing!

Don't mind him.
I don’t... that’s actually a fairly nice comment compared to some I’ve seen.

And complaining about ferries is a local pastime... to hear some people talk here you would think it’s obnoxiously expensive, to Victoria it’s ok... Vancouver is far worse though, that isn’t a “round trip” fare for us, so we have to pay both ways over $100 for the car and $28/adult. What they really gouge us on is food though $2 for a single banana! $.75 per tiny cream cheese serving! $10.50 for a single (really bad) California Roll! It’s actually worse than the prices at the movie theaters for food!

That's extremely pricey.
Hence the reason for growing an islanders own food.
Some islands are more self sufficient than others.
Everything in the Bahamas is more expensive because they don't even have water. It has to be shipped in from the mainland.

That’s the ferry company’s price gouging! The general store here is just a bit more expensive than the mainland... the pub is ridiculous though, $24 for a (not good) beef dip! Granted, we do try to grow most of our own food... if only I could remember at 5am to take my own cream cheese with me for my bagel on the ferry!

I wish we had the weather of the Bahamas right about now... but that’s crazy that they don’t have water! I’m boondocking and hauling water in right now myself, I cannot imagine an entire island needing to do that.

You might find this an interesting read.

Most of the islands are just a few feet above sea level and even Cat Island with the highest elevation in the archipelago has very little ground water nor non-salinated aquifers.
