I have 3 pounds of organic frozen berries that were.recalled.due to Hep A in the berries. Was thinking about feeding these to my chickens. Can they be harmed? Egss tainted???

Just throw them away. The chickens might not be harmed, but it might be in the chicken's system and then transmitted to people who have contact with the chickens or any where the chickens range. Hey if it is a recall shouldn't you be able to get your money back?

i would throw them out because you don't want those germs in the soil on your property, muchless harming your chickens. Hep A can get into water systems and cause outbreaks in people. Package it up, get it out of your house.

Seriously, don't even open the bag. I know they were probably expensive, but you could get it just by handling it or using a saucepan. You don't need our permission, but I wouldn't, and I can hardly throw anything useful away.

Thank you all for the replies. The benefit is not worth the risk. Tossing them out.
