Feed my chicks in?

What could I use for a feeder for my chicks? Their heads have gotten bigger now and it's hard for them to get the food out of the little ones you buy. I wanted to make one from a 5 gallon bucket and a metal pan but never have gotten the metal pan yet. They are scratching around in it and scattering it all over when I put it into a paper plate. uhhh I took the top off the little tray ones and they want to STAND in the thing! UGHHHH

Any ideas?

flat cake pans or pie pans I get them at yard sales. They will get their feet in food no matter what ! Dont fill it up too full, it will go waste, just enough to feed them.
