it's the same formula, whether it's for growing ducks or maintaining ducks... layer feed just has more calcium in it i believe.
Have the baby ducklings on the starter for four weeks... than after 4 weeks, slowly start adding their adult feed (whether you decide to use layer or grower/maintainance feeds) in larger ratios every week for about 4 weeks. By the time they are 8-10 weeks old they can be on adult feed completely. You can give layer feed to ducks that aren't laying yet, it's no biggie. My ducks were on layer feed from 10 weeks until they started laying at 5 months. It's better to start with crumbles while they are little and then switch (again slowly) to pellets when they are full grown. Pellets are easier for them to swallow and they are less likely to choke on them.
