I have layer chicks (about a month old) and cornish crosses (also about a month old) and freedom rangers (a bit over two months old) together in one barn stall and currently am unable to separate them. They are eating what my local mill sells as both a chick starter and as broiler feed. I just discovered today that it's 19% protein, which could explain my slower than expected growth from my broilers.
Would moving them to the 21% turkey feed make them grow a little faster?
Would it hurt the layers? It would only be for a few weeks until processing.
Thanks!
Edit: 18 of them go to be processed in 2 weeks. The rest I'm waiting to see how fat they get before picking a date.
