I spilled some feed a couple of days ago and got side tracked and forgot to clean it up, and the next day noticed where the feed was spilled was full of mouse turds, so I set a trap. So far I've gotten 3 of those rascals. I'll share the pic of one of them.

We were getting the critters in our coop not long after setting it up we found the mouse hole in the ground and my husband put a smoke bomb down it, the same kind he used for the squirrel problem we were having. Have not seen a mouse since. If you can find the opening make sure to cover the opening really well so that the smoke does not escape and look for any smoke coming out of the ground and cover it could be the back door.

I have mice in my feed barn, never mess with them though. When they get in the chicken yard, they don't have a chance, chickens tear them up.

these critters are in my pole barn with the chickens until I finish their coop.when I get the birds outside I won't worry about the mice anymore.
