I live in southern Wisconsin, and I'm looking for a feed store where I can go in and see a few popular varieties and pick a few chicks out like alot of you on here do. Does anyone have any idea where I would go? All the places around me that get them in have to be "special ordered" and I just wanted to add a few to our flock. Or....if someone here has chicks and they are near me....[IMG] I'll post what I'm looking for in the buy/trade section. Thanks! [IMG]

mom, I'm always jealous of people who live in the southern states and talk about peeps at the farm stores. Here in central wi. they all have to be special ordered too! Oh well...

Here in ca,, we have California Chickens, you might try going to Yahoo and typing in your state's name with chickens. This is a spin off of Back Yard Chickens. That way you can find someone close by that has chicks and you can buy from them.
Better than feed store chicks, you get to see the way they are raised. Also, you get to see if the flock is healthy. john
