I’m not sure if this is the proper forum but I have a question. I’ve had chickens for about a year now and I had some years ago and and I never know whether or not I should tip the young boy at the feed store. I never have cash so that’s part of the problem. If I had cash I know I would give them a couple of dollars. I’m just curious what the feed store etiquette is as far as tipping the young boy that throws the bag of food in the back of your truck. Should I be tipping? Should I give him a $20 bill around Christmas time? I really don’t know what I am supposed to do in the situation. Surely he makes a paycheck but I doubt it’s much. What is your opinion? Thanks.

I’ve tipped at the local hardware store when I’ve gotten a bunch of bags of mulch compost straw ect. There’s a coffee shop right across the street so I usually give $5 or so and say go get yourself a coffee! They are usually younger kids and seem pretty happy with it

Thank you all. This is a family owned business. I posted shorty before I went into the store. Found out while I was there that they’re closing permanently. They did refer me to a tack shack nearby that is going to be carrying more chicken supplies now. Sad. I like them. Small and super nice people. The boy who would load was maybe 16 or so and was a son of the owners. The new one is family owned too but a franchise of the J&J Tack Shack chain.
