I was wondering how many of you add supplements to their chicken feed? Such as kelp, probios, garlic/yeast.
I been adding it for a few years now. But recently I have not added any,
Does the pros out weigh the cons?
The biggest con is cost.

Thank you in advance

I add a lot of herbs, rooster booster, nutritional yeast, and a few other things to my feed. My chickens love it so that's a pro for me. I don't see the cost as a con because we have an egg layer flock that lays fertile eggs that our family eats and I incubate to make meat chickens. So the little amount I spend on supplements saves me money on grocery shopping.

I have all egg layers , no meat birds, also I don't incubate

I don't add anything to chicken feed except water when I make a wet mash for an early afternoon treat. 20190826_132741_resized.jpg . The feeds I buy have most of the things you've added to your feed. I purchase these 3 feeds for my chickens after 10 weeks of age, whichever is fresher or available when I'm at TSC. I offer Oyster Shells in a separate container. They have dry feed available 24/7. GC
