I have some chicks that are 7-10 weeks old. Its been so long since I've had baby chicks and I forgot what to feed them at this age. Should I keep them on chick starter until they are 18ish weeks old? I was told to switch them to flock raiser when they are about 10 weeks old which is about now. So I am going to the feed store now but I don't exactly know what I am getting them. lol. Someone tell me what I need to get!

Probably either would be fine. I feed flock raiser at that point b/c mine already range with the adults by that time, and I don't want the big ones to get into the medicated feed. Mostly you just don't want them to get too much calcium. Flock raiser is cheaper, BTW.

I'm confused about the chick starter. Do you want medicated? How long do you feed the medicated if that's what you do? Why would you want the medicated?

I feed Purina Flock Raiser to everyone.
I started my last batch of chicks on it at 2 weeks old. They're beautiful and maturing nicely. I'm a believer.
Haven't found anything that I like better.
