if you feed dried or fresh chili peppers to your chickens it may increase their production!

The few studies on that are mixed - most do not support those claims, and the few that do show only small improvements at significant quantities.

What they will do - again, if you use enough - is turn the yolk more orange, which many believe (wrongly) is an indicator of greater nutritional value. Similar gimmick to feeding marigold flowers.

Yes I understand but I found this interesting and posted it “may increase production!” I feed chills to my chickens

Many people feed Chile's to their parrots, because the birds enjoy them. It doesn't make them lay more eggs than they naturally would. I think as long as the chickens are generally healthy they are going to lay as much as they will lay for their breed and age. The process takes as long as it takes.

By the way, has anyone tried feeding citrus to their chickens? I read that in Japan they feed chickens with Yuzu, a japanese citrus fruit, so that the eggs smell and taste like Yuzu.

So I'm wondering what if I feed my chickens lemon, grapefruit or orange? Would the eggs also taste citrusy?

I have always heard that citrus is not good for chickens. I for one want my eggs to taste like eggs.
