Feed/Water Solution for Brooder

I am new to the site and somewhat experienced with ducks, and this looks like a great solution. I've toyed with the idea of using a shower base from an RV to keep the wet mess down. I'd drain it right through the floor in the coop. Another idea I had was to source an old truck bedliner and cut it to fit the bottom of my duckhouse. I have to think it would help keep the floor from having moisture constantly against it.

For the duck coop, I'm going with recycled pallets with a 1/4" hardware cloth overlining covered in straw, since that's what is most readily available here on the hobby farm. That should allow for a comfortable "floor," while also allowing all the water to drain strain down onto the pea gravel I'm putting under the pallets.

Wow, with ducks, chickens, and rabbits all in full swing, I've been super busy! But two days of construction has my duck house/hay manger combo ALMOST ready to go. I can't believe how fast the ducks grow. That said, two weeks in and this tote is still perfect for the ducks. I've lined the bottom with shop towels to absorb the spill over. And I've arranged them to cover most of the sides, too, to minimize the waste splatter. I've only had to take it out one time for cleaning.

@GentFarmer up to what age vould I use this for my ducklings? This is only an inside solution correct? I need to build a house for them outside before they get too big and don't know how...
