the feed store gave me a new big bag of Swanson layer feed to try out An tell them what I think of it? Has anyone here tried this brand?

Check the date on the bag, make sure it isn't expired.

The date on the bag will be the mill date, so you want to be able to feed it within about six week of milling. If it's older, pass it up. Chickens hate changes, so if you are going to try it, mix it with their current feed so they transition gradually. Mary

I checked the date an I mixed the feed for the first week. The bag had a lot more dust at the bottom I think it was the oyster crushed An the hen sneezed a little when I gave it to them. Also it was more broken up then the normal pellet feed I have been using so more waste I told them I prefer the one they had before.

I prefer to purchase crumbles instead of pellet feed, but I ferment so that dust at the bottom doesn't go to waste.
