I live on a 400 acre dairy farm so we grow a lot of field corn for the cows. I have orderd a corn sheller, grinder and burlap bags. I am making my own cracked corn and was wondering if there are any restrictions to selling it at my farm stand and if not what could I sell a 25 and a 50 pound bag for?

You need to check your state and local regulations. All states have their own set of rules as well as local ordinances and zoning regulations. What is legal where you live may not be legal where someone else lives and vice versa.

R2's correct, just call your local zoning office. Usually goes for about 15 to 20$ a 50 pound bag. Call a local feed store and ask.

How would I find that information?
You could start by contacting your local county agriculture extension agent and your local Small Business Association (SBA). They may or may not have all the answers that you need but they should be able to put you in touch with those that can provide the answers.

Most state regulations can be found by doing an Internet search for your state's laws regarding sales of agricultural products.

Check with the local Ag extension office.
I know around here you have to have your scale certificate by weight and measures and you need to have the corn tested for proper dryness, disease and nutritional value.
Nutritional value also has to be printed on the bag or feed label.

What would the consequences consist of if sold without evaluation? Not a plan of mine but just curious.

I believe you get hit with a fine, then if weigh and measures finds your scale off you can get fined by them.

The way around that is not to put a weight on it. Label it 'Large bag of corn/cracked corn' then when the customer ask answer, "it' about 50 pounds or so". That way legally they can't lock you down to exact weights and measures.
