Hello,I'm a fairly new chicken owner,I have 4 laying hens,1 rooster about 6 mths old and 2 young hens about 3 1/2 mths old,I feed the laying hens layer crumbles, should my roo and 2 young hens be eating a different feed🙄

I feed chick starter/grower feed until the pullets start laying their first egg around 20-24 weeks old. Everyone in the coop can be on the chick starter/grower while the little ones are growing.

I feed all my Pullets/Hens (8 and 28 months old) respectively a Non-medicated Starter Grower 18% year round, with a separate container of Oyster Shells.
A Non-medicated Starter Grower is cheaper than most All Flock/Flock Raiser feed and most contain Marigold for yolk color and kelp.
I don't have any Cockerals/Roosters, but he would get the same feed.
A Cockerel over 18 weeks old can eat a layer feed. Some that are genetically predisposed could die from excess Calcium after 3 years.
Most will die before then protecting his Flock if you Free Range. GC
