Wow she is gorgeous I hope mine turns out that pretty! She (hopefully not he) is at such an awkward silly stage now but she has such pretty coloring I think she's gonna be beautiful. I got my second batch from emvickrey in the mail today, it took 5 days for it to get here but the box and eggs arrived in perfect condition thank goodness.

She is such a sweetie. Hubby says the sounds she makes are not chicken sounds...lol She talks and sings constantly. I have 11 more of her eggs hatching first of next week. So excited.

for yours!

I received my eggs from Pips and Peeps and all are safe and sound. None broken and box intact. I love the sounds silkies make.

everyone come over and chat with us. I will be going to bed here in a few, as I have to be at work at 3:30 AM, they invited me to work 12 hrs tomorrow, how nice of them. But will be on here off and on tomorrow as I always have my phone with me.

Glad everything arrived safely. Happy hatching. I'm getting Heritage Black Jersey Giants tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. I had a Wheaton Olive egger hatching when I left this morning for work, to which I was late. Sucks I got a half a point for being late to another shift. Uncle Sam is going to love me this week, I have 12 hours of double pay and 8 hours of time and half on too of my regular 40 hours busy busy busy. Chip business not slowing down. But on the bright side my check should be close to 900$ for the week. Whoa hoo

Yeah me too. Just got some Heritage Black Jersey Giants. Now I want to get rid of all my other birds and get more heritage. I'm sold on them now.

I love the Jersey giants just big eaters. I just received eggs from Pips and my last hatch from her went poorly. Don't know what happened. the first chick to hatch was really wet. Which was weird due to the fact, I did dry incubation and only added water to the plastic liner in the bottom, had 10 fully formed chicks and two hatched and the chocolate one died. All of my wheaten OE chicks hatched out nicely, but my BR/Dark Cornish did not hatch one started to but died. They were pullet eggs though and I'm thinking the chicks were too big. I will see what happens with my hen that has some under her.

As noted by others, pullet eggs tend to be small and may not have enough room for the chicks to develop or hatch. This may be analogous with having to high humidity during incubation in which the chicks grow to large to extricate themselves from the egg shell.
