Feedback Needed: Golden 300 Hybrid Layer Ducks

If you get ducklings what is the guarantee that you will not get more drakes ?

Be aware that only first generation Golden-300 ducklings can be color sexed. If she has Golden-300 adults and bred them, the color sexing is no longer accurate.

@sourland are you saying these ducklings may not be from Metzers? and maybe from a breeding? I guess that could be possible and this is something I did not know that after first breeding they aren't sex linked.

I don't know. Just throwing that out there as a warning IF they were bred by the seller rather than Metzers.

She bought them from Metzers and I totally didn't realize she bought hatching eggs from them and then hatched them out herself.

At least if you know what color drakes and females look like then you know what your getting. Go for it. But remember all females can be loud at times so take that into consideration if your worried about neighbors.

Actually the noise bothers my parents and not our neighbors.
And she only quacks when she sees me or hears me talking.

Well I can only speak for mine when young and they first find their voice they seem to love to quack but as they mature they do tend to quiet down. So it’s just something we as duck parents have together use too. But I don’t have parents to please either.

Since most of our neighbors have little kids that love hearing our duck quack, they don't mind the noise. I try to keep the ducks locked up until 10am though as any noise before that will get reported. So far we haven't had any issues with noise. When locked up, they do have water to drink that they can't knock over.

I do the same with mine Kiki since someone decided to build holiday houses about 5 feet from where their pen is.
