Chicken door question...which would you recommend?

I was considering getting a wireless solar door where you could set it to light and dark mode. But then I was concern about chickens getting locked out or caught and sliced to pieces.

Then there’s the manual lift and slide from the outside.

Or...

Do both?

I love my Ador. Works great right out of the box. It runs on a lantern battery, so no need to constantly replace AA's. Mine has been running on the original battery for a year.

It has a tracks that are on the sides and bottom. The door goes in the track and makes it very difficult for small creatures to get fingers on and force up the door.

It also has a reverse, in case something is in the way. I have had it reverse because of too many shavings that gotten in the track. The door moves slowly...highly doubt anything would be hurt if it shut on them :).

I still "count" my girls each night. I have to remove the feed from the coop, so check to make sure they are all inside. For the first time, I had one girl who got shut out of the coop. When I went to remove the feed for the night, she was running around the run like chicken little shouting the sky has fallen. I think she probably learned her lesson and won't be dawdling again.
